STAFF ACCOUNTANT / INTERN (PART-TIME)

AIR OPERATIONS, ASSAULT ZONE, AND EXERCISE PLANNER

The Air Operations, Assault Zone (AZ) and Exercise Planner SME is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, coordination, and execution of Joint Chief of Staff (JCS), USSOCOM, Command and other-directed exercises.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

  • Assist with conducting Special Tactics duties for all air-to-ground related support and analysis of operational requirements.
  • Conduct AZ surveys and perform Drop Zone Controller (DZC) and Landing Zone Controller (LZC) duties in accordance with DAFMAN 13-217. AZ surveys will consist of performing worldwide site surveys to assess assault zones for fixed-wing landing, airdrop, and helicopter operations to include prep of final survey products and forms in support of all air operations and exercises.
  • Recommend potential assault zones and conduct comprehensive inspections to ensure surface conditions and surrounding airspace meet the requirements for safe operations.
  • Evaluate Android Tactical Assessment Kit (ATAK) survey plugins for operational use.
  • Assist with performing enroute and terminal air traffic control services (ATC) for military and civilian aircraft in suppo11 of all air operation missions, exercises, and special mission aircraft programs.
  • Employ visual flight rules and limited instrument flight rules for traffic pattern de-confliction, landing clearance, taxi, marshalling, parking, and take-off services in the terminal areas surrounding established and unimproved airfields, drop zones and helicopter landing zones in accordance with all applicable regulations and instructions.
  • Communicate information to the pilots to ensure safe operation and expeditious execution of operations.
  • Coordinate with various Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) agencies and facilities to ensure the safe, expeditious flow of aircraft.
  • Review mission requirements to determine tactical ATC personnel support requirements.
  • Possess and maintain any FAA required certifications and annual FAA Medical Physicals to remain current.

  • 5+ years of working as an air operations and exercise planner.
  • Surveyor and Landing Zone Controller certifications as defined in DAFMAN 13-217 and maintain a current FAA annual medical physical.
  • Familiar with and able to utilize android and Microsoft Office software to include but not limited to Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

  • Processing cash receipts and payments in QuickBooks, ensuring proper coding
  • Auditing employee provided receipts for coding and processing company credit card transactions
  • Responsible for managing accounts payable processing in QuickBooks
  • Preparing accounts receivable invoices in QuickBooks, as requested
  • Preparing weekly and monthly journal entries, as required
  • Assisting with the reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts
  • Preparing detailed general ledger account analyses, as required
  • Assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting preparation
  • Prepare and update internal process and procedure documentation

  • Currently pursing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Experience with QuickBooks desired but not required
  • Experience in Microsoft Office tools required
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail required; must possess strong organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with personnel internal and external to the company
  • Independent worker with the discipline to work remotely and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet business needs
